Looking forward by Jon-Allan…

Jon-Allan has taken time out of his hectic schedule to write a blog extract for us! Take a few minutes out to have a read below!….
“The end of a very busy – yet equally rewarding – 2011 saw me partner with AKW for the lead up to the London 2012 Paralympic Games and beyond.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! There is still the first hurdle of the UCI Para-Cycling World Track Championships to be held in Los Angeles, from the 9th till the 12th February. This is an event that I have been training throughout the winter for, so a visit to the AKW showroom was a welcome change from riding my bike in the biting cold and pouring rain, while giving me the opportunity to find out more about the fantastic service and products AKW provides.
I was particularly impressed with the kitchen range, which boasts many unique features such as the electric or manual rise and fall units. These are perfect for all the family. The kitchen, in many people’s opinion the ‘heart’ of the house, is often thought of as being totally inaccessible for the less able. But with the help and support of AKW it can once again be enjoyed by the whole family.
A disability does not mean the end or a lack of opportunity, as I have learned throughout my journey since being injured in Iraq. If it had not been for the loss of my arm, I would not have considered taking up cycling professionally.
And so I look forward to 2012 and the many challenges that it will bring, particularly the Paralympic Games. It’s great to know I have support from the likes of AKW and, without question, my family.
Bring it on!”
