AKW Challenge themselves for a good cause
A team from AKW, the UK’s leader in daily living and showering solutions for the disabled and elderly, have raised £725 for St Richard’s Hospice in Worcestershire contributing to the £5.4M fundraising target which the charity aims to achieve this year.
Taking place on Saturday, September 17, the team crossed the finish line of the hospice’s 2011 Corporate Challenge in a triumphant third place. Joanna Marston, Ben Shanley, Stuart Reynolds and Jon Imondi represented AKW, with ten teams competing in total.
Racing against the clock, groups were put through their paces completing a variety of teambuilding tasks, intended to teach skills that could then be applied in the workplace.
All funds raised at the event will go to St Richard’s Hospice located in Wildwood Drive, Worcestershire. Established in 1984, the hospice cares for patients and families in the local area living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
Joanna Marston, Marketing Manager for AKW, said: “We are very committed to helping charitable organisations whether they are local or national. St Richard’s Hospice is a very worthy cause, and we’re delighted that AKW could help, especially that our head offices are just nearby. We all really enjoyed the experience and hope that other companies in the region will take part in this event next year.”
