Between May-July 2019, AKW has been delighted to see the return of Cameron, a student from Cambridge University, who had previously been placed within our Engineering Department on the Isle of Man, wherein he was instrumental in the design of AKW’s soap dish which was launched in 2018.

This year’s placement was within our Product & Marketing Department in Droitwich Spa and has involved full ownership of the pre-launch of another new product which will be released to the market later in 2019. Cameron himself has said that he has learned a lot during his phase II internship placement:

“Throughout the process, I learnt about different branches of services that are crucial to a successful product. I managed to contextualise the design and manufacturing skills I learnt at school to fit customers’ needs and successfully delivered a commercially viable healthcare product. Being able to work and execute a care home product launch that would potentially benefit hundreds of thousands of senior citizens in the UK is absolutely rewarding. All the above wouldn’t happen without AKW’s professionalism and dedication to customers which constantly reminding to apply a high standard to myself when contributing to the community.”

Understandably we are delighted with his performance and his feedback on us as a company. We hope that Cameron’s internship with us here at AKW has provided him with an excellent and caring environment to work in, with supportive and approachable staff to turn to for knowledge, expertise and guidance as these are the kind of values we believe should be encouraged in the workplace.

“I am really grateful to have such life changing experience at AKW group. I would certainly be more prepared to continue strive and apply the skills I learnt in my further study at the University of Cambridge.” – Cameron.

Following this placement Cameron will be continuing his education at Cambridge University.
