AKW are delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted as a finalist in The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards UK 2017 for the Samsung Innovation Award.  AKW’s entry is focused on the development of the ground-breaking iCare shower.

The Lloyds Bank National Business Awards is the flagship awards programme that recognises and rewards excellence across all sectors in the UK. Now in their 16th year the Lloyds business awards are the ones to win. There is a range of categories suited for any successful business to tell their story; from rising entrepreneurial businesses to large public companies.

Our iCare shower is the world’s first Bluetooth smart electric shower, with the ability to be controlled via remote or smartphone app. Market leading features and technical innovations as well as unrivaled levels of control have made the iCare a successful care shower.

Becoming a finalist is an achievement as the entries are judged by a community of influential judges, making the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards true accolades of distinction.  The competition judges include representatives from Prince’s Trust, Adobe, M&S, IBM, Unilever and Google.

Paul Massey, Group CEO commented, “May I pass on my personal congratulations and sincere thanks to all the staff here at AKW & DLP Group.  Drawing on our 29-year heritage in inclusive design in bathroom and kitchen products, every department within the business has had an invaluable part to play in the development of the iCare electric shower product.  To have been shortlisted in this flagship awards programme which recognises excellence across all sectors in the UK is testament to our high-quality people and utilising the latest developments in technology and I feel very proud that AKW has been seen as one of the best in British ambition and innovation.”

AKW now progresses onto the next round of the competition where the live presentations to the judging panel takes place in September with the Awards presentation night taking place in November.
