Some lucky members of the AKW team attended The Greatest Showman Ball – hosted October 14th by Band of Builders at Edgbaston Cricket Club. A night of dinner, drinks and disco hosted by Paul Sinah, who you may know from The Chase, was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Throughout the evening, Mr Sinah supplied the jokes, and the attendees provided the laughs.
Band of builders are a charity organisation that gives aid to tradespeople who have faced life-changing circumstances and wanted an exciting night to raise money and awareness, and what a wonderful way to do it. AKW have previously collaborated with Band of Builders on Ronnie’s Project. Ronnie was diagnosed with advancing Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in June 2018. In February 2020, AKW teamed up with Band of Builders to create, in 3 days, a fit for purpose bathroom at their home in Glasgow, Scotland.
While your chance to attend the ball may have gone, Band of Builders are still working hard to ensure sudden changes don’t make homes inaccessible, with them currently working on creating wet rooms, levelling entrances, and modifying gardens and drives so tradespeople can continue to live freely.
We’ve attached their link below, have a look at their stories, and should anyone being looking for support we have also linked their contact information. We’re grateful to have taken part and look forward to seeing how else we can support them in the future.
