On Tuesday 20th December 2022, AKW Surveying Supervisor Mark Entwistle, and Business Development Managers Craig Hateley (left), Emma Stanfield (centre), and Laura Walsh (right) spent a day volunteering at Walton Hall and Gardens in Cheshire with AKW charity partner, Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP).
The AKW team offered their assistance with the running of WDP’s annual accessible Santa’s Grotto event, which was organised in conjunction with Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Worldwide, and F11 Photography.
Hundreds of children attended to soak up some festive cheer, with entry including a present and trip around a reindeer puzzle trail, with many more activities on offer, including a Winter Wonderland walk, a meet and greet with the main man himself – Santa Claus, Christmas colouring, Yule Log decoration station, tombola, raffle, and a Christmas stall.
The event marked the launch of AKW’s new employee volunteering scheme – AKW Helping Hands – which supports and encourages staff members to take part in charitable projects that benefit their local communities, with 300 paid volunteering days available to enable team members to make a difference as part of their employment with the company.
