AKW Host 2024 Macmillan Coffee Morning

Colleagues from AKW in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire and Middlewich, Cheshire, and DLP on the Isle of Man hosted their third annual Macmillan Coffee Morning last week.

Every September, Macmillan Cancer Support promote their Coffee Morning campaign which aims to bring people together for catch up and a slice of something nice, all while raising vital funds for the charity.

A delicious variety of home-baked and store-bought treats were available for a donation at AKW’s Liberty House, Independence House and Parsons House on Wednesday 25th September 2024, with colleagues at DLP joining in with the fun on Friday 27th.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, fantastic baking skills, and shared love of all things cake, over £300 was raised across the three AKW offices, with a further £288 collected by the team at DLP, a grand total of over £590, which will go towards invaluable care and support for people living with and affected by cancer.

Since 2022, AKW and DLP have raised over £1,365 for Macmillan Cancer Support through taking part in the annual Coffee Morning, a feat we’re incredibly proud of and look forward to each autumn.

In addition, the AKW team also host regular ‘Bake Off’ style charity fundraisers throughout the year which have proven popular with our star bakers – even more so with our keen tasters – and have helped us to raise even more money for fantastic causes such as Dementia UK and Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester.
