The £8m state of the art Inch View care home in Edinburgh is part of the city’s Live Well in Later Life strategy to meet older people’s needs both in their own homes and in carefully designed care homes. Inch View is one of these care homes with 60 bedrooms which have been created to make residents feel comfortable and most of all independent.
Manager Margaret Johnston is delighted with the facilities available and in particular with the Mullen® level access bathrooms as previously residents were used to a bath.
“The level access bathrooms have made a huge difference to the residents as previously they did not have their own en-suites and had to use communal bathrooms with a bath which was much harder for them”
Margaret also commented; “The new shower rooms are so much more accessible and safer. It has made a big difference for the carers too; it is far easier in the mornings for instance as we no longer need to take residents down the corridor to a communal bathroom. It is so much easier to assist individuals in their own rooms”.
