Mother’s Day 2025 – Factory Manager Sharon’s Family Affair

- Written by Laura

This Mother’s Day, we’re shining a light on Factory Manager Sharon Wright, who manages a team of 20 at our Middlewich manufacturing site, including her two daughters Nicole and Alex.

Sharon’s career with us began in 1999, when she joined the Contour Showers team in their former Winsford home as a Machinist, which saw her cut and machine the aluminium needed to produce shower screens, before she became an Assembler herself a few years later.

Having proven to be a fantastic asset to the company, Sharon later progressed to a Supervisory position, which she admits required a very hands-on approach; “I helped in all areas of the factory from cutting, machining, assembling, packing, goods out, QA – it would be easier to say what I didn’t do to be honest!”

In 2021 after more than two decades service, Sharon was promoted to Factory Manager, a role which she has overseen throughout the acquisition of Contour Showers by AKW Holdings Group in 2022.

Following relocation to Parson’s House, Middlewich in the summer of 2024, Sharon’s responsibilities have continued to diversify. Her team now assemble not only shower screens and pumps, but vanity units too, and since early 2025, the factory has become the new home of our accessible kitchen production team. In addition, Sharon’s team also manage the cutting and packaging of wall panels, along with the despatch of orders and receiving of goods.

While Sharon has spent nearly 26 years progressing up the career ladder, she was also raising her two daughters, both of whom proudly work with their mum in our factory.

Eldest Alex returned to her role as a Machinist in 2024 after taking a career break to raise her son Theo, with youngest Nicole recently celebrating 10 years’ service.

Nicole first joined the business as a Packing Operative in 2015, before training as an Assembler, just like her mum had previously, where she learned how to assemble shower screens, curtain rails, P12 waste pumps, while also completing cutting and machining tasks when needed.

In 2021, after obtaining her forklift truck license, she began assisting with goods in/out and was promoted to Factory Supervisor. Now based in our Middlewich manufacturing site, Nicole’s primary focus is supporting the team of Assemblers, Machinists and Packing Operatives, to prepare and despatch shower screens.

Both Sharon and Nicole agree that the best part of their roles in the factory is their fantastic team of colleagues:

“I have the best team of people working alongside me and that makes my job that much more enjoyable.” – Sharon

“The best thing about my role is also my team, I too couldn’t ask for a better team to work with!” – Nicole

Although many people would be naturally cautious about working at the same company, let alone in the same department as members of their immediate family, Sharon, Nicole and Alex are grateful for the opportunity to work in such close proximity.

“Working with my daughters makes work feel like home, we all have a very close relationship, and I get to see them every day now we all work together.” – Sharon

“The best thing about working with my mum is that she provides my lunch! And working with my older sister is the only time I get to tell her what to do!” – Nicole

It’s no surprise to learn that the family are just as close outside of work; Sharon is a devoted grandmother and loves spending time with her grandchildren Abigail and Theo, going on walks, or settling down with a thrilling book.

For Everton fan Nicole, weekends are her chance to catch the game, although she can sadly no longer play due to a knee injury sustained a few years ago. She also enjoys spending time with her family and going on holiday to Turkey.

Thank you to Sharon and Nicole for letting us share their career stories!

We’d like to wish everyone a lovely Mother’s Day weekend!
