We, in the Marketing Department at AKW, were left feeling rather chuffed with ourselves last month. We were delighted when one of the main trade publications in our sector, the Professional Heating and Plumbing Installer, informed us that we had won an award for producing the most popular PR piece that the magazine had published during 2016. Our 2-page article about wetrooms that appeared in the May 2016 issue, was classed as the most popular based on responses from their readership who, after reading the article, requested further information about our company and the products referred to in the piece.
Even in marketing circles there can be long debates about the merits of PR and how effective it is in ensuring key information reaches the target audience about a business, brand, product or service. We at AKW like to try to adopt a sophisticated approach to our PR activity – carefully writing articles that are engaging and inform readers about suggested solutions to challenges on the general subject. Of course, inevitably in our articles we make references to where AKW products and services can assist with these solutions, but by imparting the knowledge that we have built up after our 28-year heritage in the sector, we are able to inform the readers on designs that take into account the needs of the user, carer and installer, to impart knowledge about dementia or arthritis friendly bathrooms, innovative electric shower design and general accessible living solutions in the kitchen as well as the bathroom. This wealth of knowledge allows the reader to feel confident in our advice and recommendations which in turn, builds and maintains strong relationships with our customers and ultimately maintain our excellent reputation in our sector.
So we would like to thank our trade media partners, including the Professional Heating and Plumbing Installer magazine, in helping us communicate these key messages to their readers and how AKW can help in provide the products and solutions to the accessible living sector for bathroom and kitchen design.
