Teams across AKW Holdings Group in the UK and the Isle of Man generously donated over 250 chocolate Easter eggs in aid of several local charities and good causes.
After a hugely successful campaign in 2022, staff from across AKW, Contour Showers and DLP were keen to do their bit for their respective communities again this year and began filling boxes at donation points from early March.
The AKW team located in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire amassed a whopping 175 eggs which were then distributed to:
• Areley House in Stourport-on-Severn who offer specialist residential care for those living with dementia in a ‘home from home’ environment
• Westmead Residential Care Home in Droitwich Spa who provide residential care and care for older people living with dementia, as well as adult respite breaks (part of Sanctuary Group)
• Juniper House Residential Care Home in Worcester, who provide residential care and care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia (part of Sanctuary Group)
• Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester who provide specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people, as well as support for their families
61 eggs were donated by colleagues at Contour Showers colleagues in Winsford, Cheshire to Children’s Ward 17 at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, with healthcare staff thrilled to receive and distribute them to their young patients.
The DLP team in Braddan, Isle of Man also collected over 40 eggs and Easter treats in aid of an Easter egg hunt for local children with disabilities. This has been organised by A Little Piece of Hope, a Manx charitable foundation dedicated to helping bereaved families and sick children with hospital travel, funerals and headstones, mental health, and equipment.
As well as donating sweet treats, several volunteers from across the business helped to spread joy by hand delivering the donations in time for the Easter bank holiday weekend, for which we are incredibly grateful.
